Walking

Hove Beach Park is a fantastic destination to reach on foot, whether you're coming from central Brighton or exploring the local Hove area. Enjoy the fresh sea air and beautiful surroundings as you make your way here.

From Brighton City Centre / Pier: Enjoy a wonderful walk along the promenade from Brighton Pier. Depending on your pace, this scenic stroll could take you between 30 to 50 minutes to reach the eastern end of Hove Beach Park (near the King Alfred Leisure Centre). Just keep the sea on your left!

From Hove Station: As mentioned above, it's a pleasant 20-25 minute walk directly south from Hove Station down to the seafront and the park. You'll pass through residential streets, giving you a feel for local Hove life.


By Bus

Hove Beach Park is well-served by Brighton & Hove Buses, making it super accessible from across the city and surrounding areas. Look out for routes that run along the seafront or nearby major roads like the A259 Kingsway.

  • Key Bus Routes: Many routes pass close to the park. Check the Brighton & Hove Buses website for their full network map and live timetables. Popular routes include those that run along the A259 (Kingsway/Hove seafront).
  • Closest Stops: There are multiple stops directly along the seafront, often near key attractions within the park. Look for stops around the King Alfred Leisure Centre, Hove Lagoon, or towards Hove Lawns.

Hove Beach Park boasts excellent cycle routes, with the National Cycle Network Route 2 running along the seafront. It's a fantastic way to arrive and explore the area.

  • Cycle Lanes: There are well-maintained cycle lanes leading to and through the park heading East and West.

  • Aldrington Station: Another option, Aldrington Station is also roughly a 15-20 minute walk to the western end of Hove Beach Park, particularly convenient for accessing Hove Lagoon.
  • Brighton Station: While further away (about a 30-40 minute walk or a short bus ride), Brighton Station offers extensive national rail links. From Brighton Station, you can easily catch a local bus towards Hove or enjoy a pleasant walk along the seafront.

By Car:

If you're driving to Hove Beach Park, there are several parking options available. Please be aware that parking in Brighton & Hove can be busy, especially during peak seasons.

  • Local Car Parks:
    • King Alfred Leisure Centre (BN3 2WW): The closest car park at the Western end of Hove Beach Park. This is a small car park with paid parking.
      • Norton Road Car Park (BN3 3BE): This multi-storey car park is a good option in Hove, a short walk from the seafront and the main shopping areas, offering a good base for exploring.
  • On-Street Parking: Limited on-street parking may be available in surrounding areas, but these are often resident permit zones or paid parking bays with time limits. Always check local signage carefully to avoid fines.
  • Blue Badge Parking: Dedicated Blue Badge parking bays are being improved along the seafront, including near the King Alfred Leisure Centre. Always display your Blue Badge clearly.
